Hi Out there!

Wanted to hear your experence with/comment to the SAAB 900 2,5 V6
with automatic gear as I am considering buying one from 1994.
It has run 152.000 km and I understand it is an GM engine.

Pleased to hear your recommendations/comments etc.

Best regards

I have a manual V6, it has been quite an experience to own, most issues have been due to an electrical fualt that took a year to find, I've also rebuilt the engine due to timing pulley failure, thankfully due to the commonality of the engine in the likes of Calibra and Vectra A V6's spares and service is cheap; the autobox has a good reputation and the smooth 6 cyl will make this car a silky ride.

Listen for excessive tappet noise in the engine, if it gets quiet with heat then it's OK, if it gets noisier with heat then there is something internal amiss.

I'm poncing around in a 2.3 vert at the moment, but I do miss the intense roar of the V6 when pressed - turns heads.
