Hi, I have a totally annoying budgie type squeek from my Fan when it is turning at low speed.

The noise is from behind the glovebox. Has anyone had this apart??

Is it possible to access the fan sufficiently to lubricate it simply by removing the glovebox??

Thanks for any replies

To answer my own question....

Nope! :(

I took the glovebox out but the fan is totally enclosed and looks a fairly mammoth task to take it out.

I lifted the air vent filter (by doing the Windscreen Wiper trick) and simply spayed some WD40 into the hole leading to the motor.

Seems to have done the trick.

thanks for the help guys, couldn't have done it without you

Sorry Steve, you can't take the credit here. It wasn't your telepathy, it was my divine intervention. Better luck next time!

I directed the air to the floor and ran the fan at max speed for about 10mins after (yes it did stink the car out) with the doors open.

I have a long drive tomorrow so hopefully it will blow through okay.

I will be glad to get rid of the budgie noise so I will be able to hear the door buzzing again :):)
