Hello.

I have 1.8t with BSR stage 1 with ITG intake and dual end exhaust.
I am thinking of going Stage 3 and have couple of questions.

At this point, I only need Stage 3 ECU program, Downpipe with sports cat, and injectors. My question is...will stock mid-muffler(resonator) be ok to use?

Does the mid-muffler or the resonator have function of changing exhaust back pressure? My dual mufflers are straight through and won't cause much back pressure so I was wondering if the stock resonator would be ok.

Would I benefit from taking out the resonator?

Thanks you guys.

I think the resonator just acts as a muffler. You can go to a local exhaust shop and get it replaced with a straight pipe for around $50. Not much performance, but sound. You wont really notice the sound in the cabin, but from behind you will definately notice a difference. If you want a more noticable difference, depending on your emissions laws, gut your cat or get a race cat.
