I'm not sure what happened. Or how it happened. I was underneath tightening the bolts on the torque converter and I heard a crack and then oil started dripping down. I have no clue what happened.
It looks like it would be a distributor coming out the side of the head. What is it and do I need it? I pulled it off the 2000 engine and installed it on the 02.
The 02 had a plug in it. Is it posable tobdelete this thing?
It's a vacuum pump, automatics have them to assist with the power brakes. To delete you need the plug in the side of the head and the bottom bolt (I think bottom, it's larger than the rest) where the pump would go from the engine that didn't have the pump on it to seal up the oil passage to the pump.
Thanks. I just swaped everything over and went with that.
After I put up "broke distributor" I laughed at myself. These cars don't have them!!! Lol
Putting a car back together on 4 hours sleep is not a good idea.
