Hello, and thanks in advance for your help.

I have a 2000 9-3 with 253K miles on it. Over the last few weeks the cruise control started intermittently going off, and then would not reset. Then I noticed that the brake pedal was getting lazy on the return stroke.

I also noticed that if I lifted the brake pedal just a fraction with the toe of my shoe, the cruise would work correctly again.

I took the kick panel off and sprayed the two switches with a shot of silicone, and tried to get a shot up near the pivot (hard to see up there) but this did not help.

Given the cost of the parts, what is your best guess, master cylinder or vacuum booster?

If I do the m/c is it difficult to bleed with the the antilock module in between the m/c and the brake calipers?
