I've been getting my "Brake light failure" light coming on for several weeks now but can't find a problem. I do know that when it comes on, the light is not working. However, most of the time it is working. I can't find a loose wire, connection or short anywhere. The bulb has been changed several times. Does anyone out there have a clue what the problem might be?

Assure that both sides have new bulbs, properly installed.

Perhaps one is in a little loose..It happened to me
Then check out the center 4 little bulbs...

Clean the bulb and bulb seating of corrosion and oxidation. The failure detection works on monitoring a diiference in current between the two bulbs. The resistance due to dirty contacts will show as a failure. Not uncommon.
