Gents today I had to change out the original factory OEM brakes on my 2005 5.3i with 56.8k miles. It was a witch trying to get those calipers off but with power tools, it became a snap. The rotors barely made the cut line, but next go around will have to get some new ones. Not a bad job, pads cost a tolat of $80 for front and back sets and $80 to cut rotors. Not bad investment in a 7 yr old car. The pads were down to about 5mm just about the cut off point. I always make sure those brakes are in perfect working order because I normally drive the SUV at low flying speeds. It is a fun SUV to drive.

Personally, I would gone for new rotors... With the labor savings of a DIY job and the machining cost, it would not have been that much more for new rotors. Places like Rockauto have quality rotors at very reasonable prices, including Delco.
