Hi, As I have no workshop manual, Does anyone know the minimum thickness for the brake discs front and rear of a 96 2.3T.

Im sure the rear discs have a minimum thickness stamped on to the disc somewhere, I dont think the fronts do though. Just had a look 7.5mm minimum on rear.
By the way has anyone experienced slotted or drilled front discs?

I ended up swapping all 4 disks for vented grooved ones, Ill see how I go!
Possibly look at draining the fluid next.

With 9000 discs you don't need to know this number because: a) don't turn them, they warp before the pads wear out and b) just put new discs in every second pad change and they will be fine.

I just recently replaced the rear pads and disks on my 1990 9k carlsson. The old disks (very scored and worn right down to the 7.5 mm min thickness) were replaced with brand new RDA (Rotors and Drums Australia) slotted disks and new Bendix DB296U pads. Easy to do the change - tricky part is adjusting the calipers, but I think it's worked out ok and I've driven to work and back a few times (85 km each way) since without any issues.
