Yes but it might not work how you intend it to. It will only go off if you take your foot off the gas not during shifts.

I'm with Orca on this. However it wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade you bypass valve to a stronger better flowing one.

turbo bypass valve on a T8

It's a simple mod to do, just get yourself down to a local scrappy with a T16, make sure you get the rubber cuff on the turbo compressor inlet and the pipe from the tbv to inlet. I just cut one of the pipes off the throttle housing in half and connected the bov in using a t-piece.

I wouldn't bother on an automatic.
