I'm still confused over this whole hands free thing....

Can this be installed on any 9-3? Or does it have to be a specific year/headunit??

I have a 2003 Linear with the 7-speaker stereo.... what are my options for handsfree bluetooth?

The blue tooth hands free kit will work on any 9-3 or any car for that matter... If you have a blue tooth phone just get the kit that works with your phone, order the etadyne cable for a clean install add a couple of connectors and your time and you are good to go.

hmmm, i've never seen those type of seats before. i'm not sure how i feel about them.
From digging around on Viscouse's website (the best reference I have found yet, IMO), those appear to be the leather/cloth sport seats. I'm not a cloth fan, but those look so good to me.. I just want to dive right in.

I have the exact same seats in my '03 Vector. Excellent hip hugging with good support. And I appreciate the cloth under and behind with the leather on the sides; excellent. But your "handsfree"... The question is does the sound come from the car's speakers or ? and the microphone ?.. What does the etadyne connector give you. Thank you.

This is why I am probably going for a TomTom 500/700 which will give me the navigator and bluetooth telephone with the sound coming from "the ugly little brick".

Arnt those seats available on the US market?

And yes, they are very comfy :cheesy:

They dont get that cold when its winter and they dont burn your back and *** off when its hot, like full leather would ;)
No, not available in the US. These are the seats I've been lusting after for like a year, for exactly the reasons you state. They're probably less slippery than the full leather ones as well.

Unfortunately the steering wheel phone buttons doesnt work, but the sound from the call comes from the stock speakers and the volume of the call can be adjusted from the steering wheel.

Also if the CD or radio is on and a call is coming, the HCB will automatically mute the stereo and confirm with a beep when its ok to talk.

You answer by pressing one of the buttons on the HCB unit. Or by saying "ANSWER" when voice answer is activated in the phone.

When making a call i simply tap the phone/answer button on the HCB once and wait for the stereo to mute and a small beep, then I say the name of the person I would like to call through the phones voice dial.

My phone works as normal when Im not in the car, but as soon as I get into the car and flip on the ignition the phone automatically turns on the BT Handsfree profile

Its great!

Very good information. I have a question. What microphone are you using? The handset microphone or the 9-3's built-in microphone located near the reading lights? Thanks.

I am using the stock microphone in the car.

But as I recall, not all SS are prewired for handsfree.
