I changed the ATF fluid in my car but didn't realise that you had to run the engine while checking the level (as I say, beginner's error - my first automatic). Anyway, I rectified the situation today but had to put 1.5 litres of fluid in (7.25 lites total volume for the whole unitr). I have been running the car for about two weeks like that but haven't put on that many miles - about 200 around town.

Do you think I have done any damage to my transmission?

Lesson learned buthopefully not at a price.

Assuming that it wasn't slipping during that time I think that it's very unlikely that you harmed anything in 200 miles.

Don't worry about it.

Most likely you did no damage whatsoever (it was most of the way filled), and if you did damage it slightly, there is no remedy beyond what you've already done (filling it the rest of the way).

Now, had you done 200km pulling a 500kg trailer through the mountains the answer might be different, but probably not - it was almost full.
