I have a 2001 9.5SE 6 cylinder and need to replace my current battery. Would like to try an AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat)battery like the red or yellow top spiral Optima, but apparently not available for my car (Group 48). Also does not appear that the AGM Platinum or AGM Advanced Die Hard Gold are available either (just the regular Die Hard Gold). I also noted that Consumer Reports does not cover the Group 48 batteries in their current rankings.

Can anyone recommend an AGM battery that fits a 2001 9.5SE 6 cylinder, or any other battery for that matter? Currently only been looking at the Interstate Mega-Tron Plus 91 and the Die Hard Gold H6/48. I may have missed it, but I could not find any current discussion on this.

Thoughts?

Thanks very much!

.......Sorry just realized I posted this in the wrong location.

Any of those batteries can be used. They just are not dimensionally identical to the requirements of your car. They are generally smaller than the stock battery and are a "universal fit". Find one with the appropriate CCA and then just measure to see if it will fit in the space and has the right battery posts. Then you need to come up with a way to secure it. 2 simple nylon straps anchored on each side of the battery should do.
