Hi everyone
I am in the process of replacing my timing chain, guides ect on my 2.3 turbo s.I am going to remove the balancer chain and leave it off.I have heard you dont notice much in the way of vibrations with it off. What i need to know is can i leave off all the sprockets and the tentioner or will this cause problems.:)

Leave the sprockets off if you want. Some people leave the hydraulic tensioner fully extended whilst others get concerned that the piston rod might blow out. I've put a piece of shim steel cut to the shape of the tensioner flange to block the oil supply off.

I left the tensioner on but put the shim steel underneath it to block off the oil supply.
