My '01 9-5 LPT Wagon AT gets stuck in Park and I have to use a screwdriver to depress tab next to shifter to get into gear. Also Brake Lights are out. I read somewhere that these two issues may be connected. The No. 1 Fuse is good, bulbs are good. Does this sound like a bad shift-lock solenoid? Does it take time for it to go completely, because it seems to work o.k. every once in awhile. I noticed during my research that there were recalls due to this problem but there is no "A4" stamped on the Modification Plate. There is only a sidewards "8" stamped on the B1, whatever that means...

Sounds more like your brake light switch is broken/disconnected - I assume the shift lock solenoid is activated by the same switch (up on the brake pedal assembly under the dash) as the brake lights .
