Hello there. I have a 1976 99GL and recently it has been backfiring on deceleration and gear changes. I've done some research and believe that a faulty diverter valve may be the culprit however I have not been able to find the diverter valve in any of my Saab literature. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the topic and whether or not a diverter valve could be the problem and what else could be going on. Thank you much!
Also! While examining my engine compartment I noticed that on the opposing side of the throttle valve there is a electric switch that is pressed after the valve opens so much. I am wondering what this switch does and if anyone had an electric diagram for the wires as both of my leads are missing.
