On a local forum one user asked me what type of engine do I have B204 or B234?

Since even quick Googe search didn't give me a link where I could find that out ... maybe someone here might help me.

I have 1997 900S, N/A 2.0.

Thx.

B204 is the 2.0L engine, B234 is the 2.3L one. Turbo or not, the engine name doesn't change.

cheers

The B204I is not turbocharged

The B204L is a turbo (Saab900SE -T)

B202 is still the twin cam, but without balance shafts.

Do you have your engine number handy ??

The B202 was never used in the NG900. Actually, the B204 (also known as "short block") was made just to it the NG900's engine bay, then later used in the 9000.

My LPT is B204E (E is probably for ecopower), you can read this in the begining of your engine number. Now, most of the European countries are not paying attention to engine number any more, but some of them are marking it's type in car licence. Mine was imported from Italy and B204E is writen in engine section of "immatricola".

I couldn't find my engine number in the car's documents; but I found the engine type - it's B204I. I didn't know it was there.
