I just noticed that the auto dimming function of my rear view mirror does not work with tinted windows. Is this also the case for those who have tinted windows?

I didn't notice a difference in the auto-dimming function after getting tinted windows. Certainly the tint allows less light to pass and then hit the rear facing auto-dimming sensor, but the sensor should still be able to sense when a jacked-up SUV has their brights on... :nono; ... and adjust accordingly.

Exactly what happened to me last night but the rear view mirror didnt adjust. Out of curiosity, I pointed a flash light directly at it from the rear seat soon as I got home and sure enough, the mirror dimmed.

I don't know what level of tint you have on your car windows. My car had a T35 film applied to the windows and I can confirm the auto-dimming feature still works.
