Unless i'm mad a 5 speed tranny is the same in an aero and lpt - the key difference being the uprated aero clutch.

So what are the differences in the auto variety? Is the whole system just as robust in a non-aero car?

I'm going over to the dark side and purchased a 2.3 auto, hence my asking. (Obviously it will be Nordic tuned shortly:cheesy: )

the 5 speed automatic is the same unit in both aero and non-aero versions. here's some more info on the automatic transmission. welcome to the 'dark side' and remember the S button is your friend.

Hi,

There ARE differences between the gearboxes in LPT and Aero models. I don't know exactly how important they are in terms of tuning potential, but they do exist.

Also, when tuning an automatic, make sure your tuner knows how to adapt S/W to the auto box...
