I know that the nozzles changed from the tadpoles of the early cars to the long coffin-shaped ones in '04, and those definitely don't interchange. The hole in the hood is different.

But the '08-09 look pretty similar to the 04-07, at least in EPC. Could one fit an '09 nozzle in an earlier car?

Yes. I have done that in several 9-5s. Actually all nozzles are interchangeable.
I have swapped 08 nozzles to 01.

Thanks. But, huh? I think I tried to put the long rectangular nozzles in my '03 9-5 with the tadpole nozzles, and they would not fit in the hood hole. I will take another look I guess.

I have a replacement hood for my 2004 CV. As usual with these cars, the nozzles break in various ways. I can get an entire nozzle kit, including the hoses and junctions with valves, for '08-'09 9-5 for a good price. So I will see if I can install the whole thing in the 9-3 hood. :D
