So I was hoping someone could explain to me what is the deal with these aquamist water injectors? I understand how they work and that they are used to prevent detonation. So I guess what I'm asking is if I were to put a stage 3 tune on my 2003 9-5 aero and also put a aquamist injector would I be able to still used regular octane fuel (US) and get the same performance?

If you're installing Aquamist so that you can run lower grade fuel, you're doing it for all the wrong reasons. Based on the lowest cost I just found with a quick web search, you'd have to purchase ~2500 gallons of fuel and drive ~66,000 miles to recoup the cost of the aquamist system (based on a $0.30 difference between 87 & 93). That is NOT taking into account the methanol solution you must purchase to use in the system.

Must say that do notice the difference with 97/98 RON in the UK. It is more costly but you get more Power. My Dads A8 also states that you should run it on super!
