Hey y'all, need some help here.

I'm down in the LA area looking to buy and restore a classic 900. I found an '86 Zircon Blue (one year only) near Stockton.
Bad news is, it overheated many years ago and has been sitting ever since. dude never took it to a mechanic.
his best guess is that the head gasket warped; something about water in the water jacket froze ("water in the cylinder", said his friend).
well, he's not asking very much for it and my slogan is to save all C900's before someone throws 'em to the junkyard.

I wouldn't feel comfortable purchasing unless i have a proper diagnosis, and know what how much $$ i need to throw at this thing to get it driveable.
by any unfathomable chance, are any of you Sacramento based Saab-inclined mechanics, retired or current, who'd be willing to look at this for me?
please let me know and I'd love to work things out to save another 900 before it gets crushed to a million pieces. yes, i would reimburse for your time.

thanks!
