Hi guys

The driver's side seat in my car is in a dire state. The seat itself (ie that bit I sit on - not including the backrest) has collapsed (has always been like this in the time I've owned Ruby and now it's time to fix it).

The problems seems to lie with some very long springs that form a type of matrix (I'll check the passenger seat to see how things should be). I'm hoping that it will just be a matter of putting the springs back in position and maybe replacing those that have lost their tension.

Is it very easy to remove the front seat and will it be necessary to remove the backrest from the seat in order to fix the problem?

What are the springs actually called - so I can sound vaguely knowledgable when contacting a wrecker or trawling eBay for a replacement.

Many thanks, once again.
Cheers

Thanks Jezzadee

Clearly I'm not the first person to have this problem. That link is fab. Matthew's pics are excellent

Looks like something I can have a go at myself. Though I'm surprised about the complexity of the seat heating.... I thought it would just be warm air being blown up through a vent. (Don't use the heating much here unfortunately - about as often as the eskimo's would use an airconditioner I suppose!!)

stay tuned for my next desperate cry for help...

cheers
