Hi All,

Bought a saab 93 about a month ago for small money and I am now trying to fix the issues with it. Got the balance chain done which was my priority job as for that to go would have rendered the car unviable.

My next issue is the " Airbag malfunction warning light", situation is that everytime I start the car I get a warning, however if I drive the car continously for about an hour or 50 Kilometers, switch it off and restart the car the fault clears, as soon as the car has cooled down the fault reappears.

I have checked under the seats for disconnected wires, checked the airbag fuse and tried a different car battery all without any success.

I had the car with a Saab specialist who cleared codes from the ecu but the airbag malfuncton came back straight away! He rescanned and got an error indicating that the Airbag ecu is faulty, is this likely considering after a decent drive the errors clear.

Any ideas on the above would be most welcome.

Forgot to mention!

The cruise control switch is working intermittingly and a car dismantler tells me that the cruise control switch is a sought after item because as a replacement part it also solves a problem on the airbag functionality! Could this be in anyway connected to the airbag funtioning correctly when the car is warm?

There seems to be a lot of variables as far as the airbag goes and while I dont mind spending money fixing it, I dont want to end up with a shed full of spare parts either!
