Hi, my Audio head unit (Pioneer 7-speaker), has blown a channel on my 9-5 Aero estate MY 2001, and rather than mess about paying out to fix and divorce/marry it, I figured I might as well get one of these Chinese import In-car DVD/i-pod/TV contraptions for not much more money. The only thing I was wondering is, is there an ISO adapter available that would allow me to utilise all 3 of the terminal blocks of the existing wiring harness, so the bus in/out, power leads etc will work as standard? Has anyone done this and if so could you advise on the best way forward?

my auto-electrical knowledge is limited to say the least, but I have had an aftermarket double-din unit fitted to my own 9-5 (MY2002) by an ICE specialist. They did some research on the Saab set-up before I took the car to have the the job done but they didn't report any issues or specific complications ref wiring/connections. My car had the AS2 audio, and I've since added two speakers to the rear parcel shelf (originally just dummy grilles on the 7-speaker option as you know...)

I chose a Kenwood unit in preference to one of the Chinese imports. Rather more pennies, certainly, but it's a good all-round multimedia system inc.SatNav facility and all the usual desirables ie. ipod interface/radio/bluetooth/CD & DVD/second USB lead. I was wary about Chinese options in terms of overall quality, possible radio issues (fully tuned for UK reception etc....??) and also after-sales support if needed

I imagine your dash layout is same as mine - there's a couple of pics (not the best quality ;oops:) showing the finished install on this thread, at posts no. 163/164

plus, a fair number of other earlier recent threads on the forum if you're interested, worth searching under "stereo upgrade" for starters....

yes, ISO connector will work - try to found one with RCA plugs already included ( bought one last year off ebay, but don't see them anymore ... )
adapter won't have any connections where the bus wires come in and SID will display all info as with standard radio
