Has anyone had success with aftermarket (non Bosch) AMM's? As we know new original ones are pretty much NLA, and while there are some Bosch official re-man'd ones, they're rare as hens teeth also. I got a re-man'd one for my 9000 (it uses the -013 version) but cannot get them for the 2.1 c900 (which uses -019 version).

I think there is perhaps 1, maybe 2, places here in oz that rebuild fuel injection parts like AMM's but I haven't tried them out.

What about the aftermarket AMM's?

I found that even Re- manufactured (as if !) Bosch ones had very short lives.
I suspect Trionic was implemented in large part to be rid of the Bosch Junk.
There was Genuine Reason why Toyota paid for Licensing rights for the Bosch system.
But chose to Mfg their own components .

If you're referring to T5, it's a speed/density system so doesn't need a MAF. Speed/density was very popular in the late '80s and early '90s as it was a fast, relatively inexpensive path to fuel injection. As we see with T7 and T8, the problem with speed/density is that it's not very accurate and has relatively poor emissions control... T7 and T8 - and every other modern fuel injection scheme - went right back to MAFs.

I just replaced my AMM as the Bosch unit went bad (it was already a remanufactured part). The one I ordered was sold as a Cardone unit but when I opened the box, it was just another remanufactured Bosch part… I’m beginning to wonder if that’s all that’s actually available?

There are AMM's claiming to be 'genuine aftermarket' for sale here on Ebay, even genuine Bosch (but the supplier won't provide any Saab p/n or Bosch p/n for equivalence checking).

Bosch 0 986 280 117 is supposedly the 'official' Bosch reman p/n for the original 0 280 212 019 part (Saab 91 13 838) for 2.1's with EZK.
