Sorry if it's been asked before, can't really find much detail about the oil. Thinking of doing a partial oil change until I can get it done at the garage properly, what spec is the oil in the auto gearbox (AF40)? The parts place I use won't keep genuine saab, so I would like to know if its 75-90, gl-4 or gl-5, synthetic etc.

Toyota Type IV AT fluid or Mobil 3309 are compatible with the Aisin 5-speed transmission. Not familiar with AF40 - is it a six speed?

I'm sure I read somewhere 3309 was bad for the 6 speed gearbox? Not questioning you just don't want to end up with a munched gearbox, happened in a previous car I owned when I put wrong oil in :/

Agree! Only familiar with 5-speeds in 9-5 2.3T and 9-3 2.0T. I'm sure others will weigh-in.

5 speed auto uses toyota type IV or 3309...The 6 speed auto uses AW1..

Might wait until the garage can do it lol, changes gear nice just doing it as precaution. Thank you all
