I mentioned in another thread that I finally removed the shims on my AC compressor (Seiko) on my 94 Aero. Holy cow the air blows cold now!

There's only one problem; the cold air won't stop coming through the vents. Doesn't matter if it's on "Auto" "Econ" or "Off".

Now, it's possible the cliimate sensor thing isn't working; although I wouldn't know how to test, and the thermistor may not be reading correctly (but I have cleaned it with alcohol and a q-tip).

Any thoughts?

Don't mean to be a wiseguy but, maybe you are under-shimmed.

Possible that you have reduced the gap to the point where the clutch is always driving the compressor - even when de-energized?

Is the low-side pipe cold when ACC is set to "econ" or "off"?

Pull the lead to the compressor clutch and verify disengagement.
