Hi,
I drove an auto 93 2.0 convertible yesterday and I noticed on a number of occasions, that the car seemed to lose power halfway through gear changes. It was almost as if the box droped down a gear then changed up again. Has anyone else noticed this or was the box playing up?

Best regards,

Peter

I encountered a similar situation with an 05 2.0t auto loaner last week. it seemed like the car hiccuped and then caught power again, I was beeping the horn and pressing the accellerator to avoid being hit by a bad driver, luckily the lag in power did not leave me a sitting duck.

I've never had any issues like that w/ my 2.0T 6-speed. (knocks on wood)

Is your six speed an auto as well then?

I think the problem that I was having was due to the way I was driving it.
The box seemed to be dropping down one gear too many (causing engine braking) then popping up to carry on  It was quite disturbing, however when I booted the car hard it was smooth all the way through :(

Odd I just wanted to make sure that this was not a well known trait before I spend a whole load of cash on a new one :cheesy:

Thanks :)
