Have a 99 9-5 with 70K on it. Just recently started a mysterious warm start issue. Cold starts fine. Once its been run and shut off, it will not start unless it sits for 10 mins or so. Possibly related; the last oil change was overfull by about 3/4 quart?

Welcome to the Forums.

Hello and Welcome to the forums. These symptoms are familiar to many of us and indicate that your CPS or Crank Shaft Position Sensor is beginning to fail. You can read detailed post from other members by searching the forums using that name. Many of us have swapped these out ourselves with some success others (myself included) find themselves with other issues to deal with. Hope this helps and good luck with your car.

Define "not start"

Does the starter spin the engine but the engine doesn't start running? Likely CPS like others have said.

Does the starter not spin at all? Likely loose positive battery cable at the starter.
