It won't make much of a difference for you except in price. If you had a turbo it would be a lot more noticeable, and if you had modified that turbo by raising boost pressure you would really notice it. Try filling up with Shell Optimax which is 98.5 octane next time and see if you notice anything. But at 94.9p a litre is it really something you want to do that often?

The 900i 8v doesn't have EZK does it? If it did then you might get slightly more ignition timing advance, and thus a bit more perk
