I have been browsing the threads on the oil issues and am trying to find out just what Saab will do regarding oil sludge, my 2001 Aero had the oil filler breather nipple mod done about two yrs ago, but there is always some sludge in the tube when I check the oil.
As I understand it Saab have extended the warranty for this problem to 8 yrs, as mine will go out of that warranty peroid soon can anyone tell me what technical bulletins are in force at the moment i.e. removal of oil pan for inspection/cleaning and what I can get Saab to cover.
Then engine runs fine and I have had no problems with oil pressure but have heard of others who have, I have a full service history and use synthetic oil.
Its not the warmest country where I live so am concerned that the engine doesn't get really hot enough to cook off the condensation.

There are many threads oin that issue. Just type sludge in the search box and you'll see.

SAAB usually covers all damage related to sludge but only if proof of maintainance is produced. That is to be expected as you need proof that it's a defect rather than neglect. Good thing you have the records. If you used synthetic oil and changed it regularly you shouldn't have issues especially if the car had the updated version of the PCV (version #6)

Good luck :cheesy:
