I get very serious bucking/slipping and kicking after driving the car in stop and go traffic and/or letting it idle for too long. It drives rather smooth on the highway under constant acceleration.

Everything points to valve body replacement, which seems typical for these cars. Drain and fill didn't help much, but it was only done once at a shop. Should I attempt the 3x drain and fill or is it a waste of time? Any way to narrow it down? Is it worth to take it to a tranny specialist? I assume they charge for diagnostics.

Sooo, did anyone deal with this recently? Should I go to a transmission shop do diagnose, or is it a waste of money? I'm not sure how expensive it would be if they could narrow it down to a specific solenoid and replace it, versus just swapping the whole valve body.
