Hello. I've just joined this forum because I've JUST purchased a 1996 900S convertible in Vibrant Lemon. I enjoy the car very much, and am impressed by its on road behaviour, but I have a problem. The soft top (tonneau) cover regulator seems to be faulty. My husband removed it, was able to bend it back into its correct alignment, and he constructed a little strengthening bracket. The hood worked well for a few weeks, but it has happened again.

My husband put a spanner on the shaft that the top hinges on and says that it seems too much force is required to turn it, therefore straining the regulator assembly.

What can I do about this without resorting to replacing the motor?

Regards,
Bernice

Bernice,

Welcome to the forum. Please note that this forum has various sections devoted to specific models of Saabs. You have posted in the section for the 2003 and later 9-3 Sports Sedan (and variants). You should ask your question in the forum for the "NG900" which is what your '96 900S is.
