Ignition barrell broken on a MY2000 9-3 ..
have sourced a working ignition barrell & key from a scrapped MY1999 9-3 Viggen,
will this swap in without issues?
(my knowledge of the 9-3 is nil)

Yes - it should be identical.

The 1998 - 2000 have the same part number (8960221, which might have one or more superded parts numbers), per the electronic parts catalog... Ron

The same barrel, yes, but will you be able to switch the guts and use the original keys?
Did the return spring break?
That happened with my Saab 93 back in the 70s. This may be an identical design..
