It is still FWD, without some form of voodoo magic it isn't going to do a whole lot better. When it gets AWD and you can just dump the clutch and go, then all will know the fury of a Saab. But you won't be able to do that because if it has any trace of Saabness at that point the transmission would explode. :p

Hmm I'm confused, the article said:

- SportCombi comes in November (as opposed to Jan '06 as we were told)
- facelifted 9-5 comes in '06 (as opposed to Sept we were told)
- 9-6X is coming, period (as opposed to not at all)

Anyone ?

Not so sure about the SC, but the 9-5 is going to be introduced at Frankfurt in September and will most likely go on sale in '06 (think that's what has you confused). Yeah a lot of this information has been conflicting, specially about the 9-6X. Anyways here's another review: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FirstDrives/articleId=105710?tid=edmunds.h..insideline.promo.2g.*#3

Edmunds review of 9-3 SS Aero V6T

What's with all the journalists' beef about the engine note anyway ?

And aging chassis ?

Novelty with joystick vents .... they've been on the 9000 since 1985 !

What is it with auto reviewers and "aging chassis." Putting aside the fact that the 9-3 is by not means that old and they obviously don't know what they're talking about, what does it matter if it's old? If drives well and looks good, who cares who old the CAD drawing is?

GM Media on 9-3SC Aero 0-62mph time

GM's own stats list SC Aero's 0-62mph/100kph as 6.9sec with the M6 but a staggering 8.3sec with the A6 tranny.

But with about 200lbs lighter on the Aero sedan, it should beat the 6.9sec by at least 0.1 to 0.2sec ?
