Hi,this is my first time on any forum,so excuse me in advance for any seemingly ignorant inputs.
I have been with my 2000 model 9 3 aero convertible for about 3years.It has travelled about 180,000ks.The only trouble I've had with it,was to replace the clutch slave cylinder, and the soft top rarely operates properly(wishing I had the tin top version).oh,andconstantly trying to stay within Tasmanian speed limits. But about 2 months ago I had to start jiggling the ignition key to get it to turn, about a week later it wouldn't turn at all, rendering the car only good for a dog kennel,at the moment.Luckily it was at home at the time. The key still works perfectly on the door and boot. The car didn't come with a spare key,and it's not a remote key, which I would also like to receive feedback on how to make it so.Thanks very kindly in advance

You have to turn key to first position, otherwise you do not release ignition lock barrel for cleaning/repair/change to another.
You might need to use pliers, if it is stuck.
