my '88 9k died today on the highway, The fuel pump works, I think it may be the ignition coil, I tested it according to a digital tester thing i have. I get a reading of 7.5 ohms, the book says it should have a reading of 6000-30000 ohms could it be the coil? I also removed the main wire to it and put a spare one on, then put the end near a ground cranked on the engina and I seen no spark... Is there something else that I should be considering?? does something else control the coil that could be failing??

does the distributor control the coil? I was looking around and found a broke wire that leads into the distributor but, I can not get into the dist. to repair, where would be a good place to get a new or used one cheap??
