70 bucks isn't so bad, it's 79.95 for an M1 OC at my Dealer..... ask around, some guy get hit for 100 or more...

Go to your corner Service station, I bet he'll do it 20 bucks cheaper than your dealer.

AH!
thats nothing. The former local saab dealer here charges 100 for the oil change, and 1000 for the annual 30/60/90 service.

Its unfuknbelievable... Thats also reason why Saab went bust. They charge for maintenance like if it were a Ferrari.

Damn, so I am spending USD $700+ for the major service for 60k miles that it can be DIY?

75K mile service is only changing engine oil and filters(oil and air)
sadly, it will cost me $70 for that in Connecticut

I can imagine a Ferrari 90K miles service....5 figures and the owner flinches not...he may never know about it..:cheesy:
The 90K service should takes less than 3 hours; I used to do VW services in 1.5 , there were no "tea breaks".
And, IMO, we had to do more, even if the car was much simpler.

Well, the 5K service on a Ferrari 430 is 5K, they replace all fluids, all filters, timing chains, tranny clutches and some other engine components.

The Enzo's first service is 15K...

If someone is only slightly handy and has a few wrenches, couldn't they do:

1.Lightning – check and adjust (just point it to the wall, tape where the beam hits and back up 20 feet and see that it is 1-2" lower?)
2.Coolant level and freezing point – check and adjust (check level, if you didn't add water and it didn't get consumed, then the freezing point is ok)
4.Power steering fluid – check
6.Engine oil and oil filter – replace
7.Oil and fluid leakage – check
8.Gaiters, outer and inner drive joints – check
10.Exhaust system – inspect the mountings and check for leaks
11.Fuel tank and fuel lines – check
12.Brake pipes and hoses – check and adjust
13.Brake pads – check
14.Handbrake – check the function (just see if it stops the car?)
15.Tires – check thread depth and adjust pressure
16.Spark plugs – replace
17.Air filter, engine – replace
18.Fresh air filter – replace and clean drainage hose
20.Washer and wiper system – check and top washer
22.Locks, doors and hinges – check, lubricate
23.Safety belts – check and adjust
25.Service indicator – reset and road test

And leaves this....
5.Shock absorbers and bushings – check (just bounce the car up and down with your hand and leaning on the car? Or just change shocks at 80-140k miles?)
9.Steering joints – check the bushings
How do you do this????
19.Battery – inspect (just wait until electrical gremlins or change every 4 years?)
24.Airbag system – check (just ignore???)

Which leaves this to be done by someone else....

5. brake fluid (not too hard but need either 2 people or 1 person and a vacuum device)
21.Drive belt, auxiliary unit – replace

Surely, the cost now drops from $1000 quoted in a previous post to something much lower.

Airbags Inspections are really a dealer thing.

Pop the strips on the battery, check the acid level....if it's low top off with DISTILLED water.... just the water evaporates not the acid.
Clean the terminals, coat with dielectric grease.
