Im fast approaching 36k on my 2.0t Vector Convertible and thought i'd trawl through the phone book to see who does the best deal.
Here's the results:

Strathstone Saab Northampton £339
Lookers Liverpool £322
Beechwood Saab Derby £294 to £337 (depends on VIN?)
Bond Street Saab Leicester £310
SaabCity London £250 (Web booking offer)
Nottingham Saab £210 (Independant)
Concept Saab Sutton Coldfield £300

I'd be interested to know whos paid what for their servicing.

TIA

Hi, I took Saab City up on their 'December only' offer of £250 plus limo into London, last year and it was great. They're one of the largest dealerships in the UK and very professional.

I'm moving back to Chester in a couple of weeks but will be tempted to use them again for servicing. Do watch out however, as at my last service they said I needed new brakes but they were still fine some 6k miles later...

It sounds like they have improved... (I hope so)

I had several bust ups with them when I had my last Saab, the worst being when I caught them cruising my car in the Docklands when it was supposed to be in a bodyshop :( After this I used North City Saab in Chigwell and I was much happier with the service. I will be using them for servicing my new car when it arrives (I live to the west of Bath now so its a bit of a trek, but It worth the day out...)

Well i bit the bullet and had my car 36k seviced by Bond Street in Leicester. I was told the cost was £320 when i booked it in, and when i actually dropped the car off i provided my own Saab oil (from Ebay £20;) ),which they were happy with and also had a list of warranty item for them to look and hopefully resolved:

  • Skipping CD player when cold - New one on order
  • Rusty wheel bolts - 2nd set replaced including genuine Saab locking Nuts (mine were Ebay cheapies!)
  • Speed Dependant Volume - Reprogrammed not sure if working though?
  • 3 Keys replaced - Including spare bought from Ebay for £3!
  • Stiff boot - New hinges on order (so no more workouts!)
  • Rattlings from engine bay - Tightened air box & lube/tightened rad mounts (seems to have worked).
  • Clunk from suspension - lubed joints and re-torqued all bolts - told to monitor (so far so good).
  • Also complained that my non-leather gearknob should be leather (took 2 years to notice;oops: ) they agreed and a replacement is on order!
All in all i was really pleased with their professional attitude and customer service, and my only gripe is that i had a Kia Picanto (see below) as a loaner because i couldn't wait for a Saab loaner to be dropped off.

And the icing on the cake, is that the cost (for some strange reason) only come to £232 - bargain!!
