Please Help! My daughters 1999, 9-3 (4 cyl, AT) DIED in my driveway today. When the ignition key is turned to start the car, nothing happens. Its almost like there is a dead battery. I put the OBD II meter and got theses 3 codes: PO133 (O2 Sensor), PO300 (multi-cylinder misfire), P0340 (cam shaft position sensor). The battery appears strong and charged (good headlights, radio and power windows).
I have no idea as to where to begin looking for the problem. I suppose the DI Cassette could maybe be the problem along with the starter motor/solenoid. These are only guesses. I probably need to have it towed to a Saab specialist who know electrical systems. I would appreciate any suggestions and solutions.

3 Codes

No, the car does not even "crank". Nothing happens when you turn the key and try to start the car. Its like the battery is disconnected.

Check that all the battery/starter/alternator/main ground connections are tight and free from corrosion. Also take a voltmeter to the batter and make sure it reads over 12V.
If that still doesn't help, connect a single jumper cable from the positive battery connection to the starter (make sure the car is in neutral) and see if it turns over, if it doesn't try either hitting the starter with a hammer or replacing it.
If it does start, take a look at either the ignition switch (the electrical contacts within the switch wear/corrode/get build up and stop it from working properly). If the car is an automatic, check the NSS (Neutral Safety Switch).

I get two of those codes occasionally and I'm 90% sure it is the ignition cassette (DIC)

If you're dead in the water, I'd try finding a junkyard or saab mechanic that will let you swap out a used DIC to see if it lets your car start.

The two things I'm having a hard time biting the bullet for on these saabs are an extra ignition key and a new DIC.
