I recently replaced the ACM on my 2008 Saab 9-3, I replaced it because my tech2 couldn't communicate with ACM and was showing DTC's fro all the Airbag sensors. After installing the new ACM all the DTC'S cleared except for B-0103 08 (Front Right Sensor Fault). I remove the bumper and switched the left sensor to the right side and vise versa, to see if the fault followed the sensor. I cleared codes and rescanned, the same code came up telling the problem is in the wiring. I even switched out another sensor from my other 2008 9-3 and still got the same code. I've checked the first 3 feet of the sensor wires until it leads to a split near the airbox, wires look good.

Before I go any further, can anyone offer some advise on the best way to approach this issue?

Disconnect and remove battery.
H24-1 (under battery) pin 11 goes to sensor pin 2. Pin 12 goes to sensor pin 1.
If these are OK, remove Airbag box under center console.
H24-1 pin 11 goes to airbag box pin 50. Pin 12 goes to box pin 49.

Thanks Mimi, What am I to do with these pins, am I checking for continuity?

I finally got around to checking the ACM connectors. The connector at the rear of the ACM looks good Make and female sides. The one that connects on the passenger seat side appears to have some turquoise color on the female side Of connector. I've sprayed Electrical clean and tried to use a toothbrush to get in the holes but it doesn't look like it did any good as I am still getting the same code. How might I go about testing the circuit?

I forgot to mention, the H24-1 connection looked good on both sides

I was able to find a wiring diagram for the H24-1 connector, but I can't find anything on pin location numbering diagram of ACM passenger side connector.

Excellent, Thanks okcrum. This points me in the rights direction. Much appreciated!
Well I've checked ACM connectors and cleaned the contacts several times, still getting same code. Any other thoughts from anyone?

I saw the diagram for the H40-2 connector but didn't see how it might be related to the ACM

Couple of pics of ACM connectors, you can see the discoloration in a contact opening at the bottom left hand corner of the yellow connector.

Yellow ACM connector
I checked the resistance with Tech2 and got the following:
  • Driver Front Loop 1 2.65 ohms
  • Driver Front Loop 2. 2.65 ohms
  • Passenger Front Loop 1. 2.10 ohms
  • Passenger Front Loop 2. 2.05 ohms

Im not sure what they should be!

All are in tolerances, so they are OK.
You need another Airbag box.

I've got another 2008 9-3 and I'll switch the ACMs to see if the code follows the box. Thanks I didn't think about that Mimmi!
