Hello,

I am considering purchasing an '08 SportCombi 2.0T with 210K miles on it. I realize this could be a very foolish purchase, but I have always wanted one of these (It's a manual) and it's relatively cheap.
I haven't seen it in person yet, but it looks really clean in the pictures. The current owner is the second owner (for past 30K) and he claims the original owner drove it from New York State to Chicago a lot, thus, the high miles.

I have owned 5 Saabs thus far but never a 9-3SS. I am reading now about the valve stem issues with these engines. Given the miles, do you think this issue must have been addressed? Can these engines go this long without having to that repair occur?

Any help advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

Theyd have gone bad by now. Ask when clutch was done.

I asked the seller and he claims the all the valves were replaced by previous owner.

Thank you. I did ask and about the clutch but the current owner doesn't know if or when it was replaced. I'll test the clutch to the best of my ability when I go see it. I have a feeling this is going to be Saab #6.
