Brought to Saab dealership, findings were that the Ignitor inoperable due to a corrosion at the Head Lamp ECU. Recommends Head lamp assembly, ECU and bulb replacement.

Basically, it's a corroded wire, there has to be a better fix.

My 2003 9-3SS Linear just developed the same warning yesterday. Is there any way, short of going to a dealer, to determine if the failure is simply a burnt-out bulb vs. a wiring/control module issue, or will I have to find a dealer to look at it?

Not sure if they ship internationally, I just got the part at Saab parts dept.

Pretty sure you have to take the car in to decipher burnt bulb or the switch inoperable. They weren't sure which it was with mine, so est was $1600 to replace everything....

Recently, had a bug in my software as well, car would stop while driving. $200 sw upgrade. Guess it could have been worse!

Now I understand when asked, "what's your "saab" story?"

Same issue "Left low beam failure"

I tried changing the bulb twice with no luck, I've checked the connectors, everything looks and fine no corrosion. I tried taking off the entire headlight to see if I could follow the ground wire to where it connects to make sure it wasn't a bad ground. I didn't realize I had to take the bumper off to do so, so that will have to wait. Has anyone tried replacing the module? I don't think my car has Xenons lights, how do I tell? I really need to get this fixed please help me!! What do you think my problem could be. I have a 2006 saab 93 T. Thanks

Welcome to SC..

hids auto level at start up,halogens don't also if it turns out you do have the halogens check the brown wires on both low beam bulb connectors, they do corrode where they crimp onto the spade connector in the plastic housing..

Sorry Im really stupid when it comes to this. My headlights light up when I start my car. Auto driving lights. Is that what you mean?? I've checked where the brown wires connect into the bulb holder and they seem fine. Where else should I be checking? Do I need to remove the entire headlight to find where the wires connect on the other side?
Thank you guys soooooo much!!!!!!

My Indie cry's uncle

My indie mechanic said he didn't know if the bulb he replaced had blown when he replaced it or just didn't light up.I brought it back to him the next day.He had it in the shop for two hours or more and is not knowing what to do. So I told him i'd take it to another indie who works solely or mostly on Volvo's and or Saab's .I always though the new indie was a little crazy now i understand why.
Meanwhile I've been looking at cars and I live in an area that has little but junk to offer.
I bring the Saab in Monday. Can't wait to find out if the new indie wants to put thousand of dollars into the car to fix the lights.
I would buy and put in used parts my self but I am no longer a DIY guy... not since the fire in the VW (true story)

Great site, do they ship internationally? They say no but they have every country listed there. No phone number to contact.
Interesting website. No contact info whatsoever, shipping or return location, etc. A little fishy...

Also "all sales final" doesn't help things either.
