Hi: bought a 2002 93 SE T7 with engine knock. At first wanted to use as a parts car but decided to fix at the end. Yesterday dropped the pan and found #2 main bearing spun. All others are ok. The pan had no sludge. I remember reading that a T5 block from a 1999 with the original head T7 and a T5 gasket is a better combination. I am wondering if a B235 2.3 is a better option? or just the entire 2.3L 9-5 engine? I need to buy a block or the entire engine anyway, therefore, open for options. Please advise. Thanks

There are a few threads on this. Now doing an 02 with a B204 block and original head. Use the 204 head gasket. You'll need to re-program if you move to the 2.3.
