Trying to get the old girl running again. It sat for a couple years, I disconnected the ignition coil and fuel pump fuse to crank it over for ~10 seconds three times. Put everything back and it fired right up! I let it idle for about 10 minutes switched it off and tried to fire it up again and it would not start. Tried again a few weeks ago and still it just cranks and will not start. Any ideas from the Saab geniuses here?

How old is the gas? Any chance there was a fuel stabilizer added prior to the layup?

I bet you burned up the fuel that was in the lines and then sucked in varnish.

First I would check that the fuel pump is running. If it doesn't sound like it's running, give the tank a bang.

Spraying some starting gas into the intake could confirm that it's a fueling problem, if the engine starts for a second.

Thank you for the suggestions, I will give them a try. There was no stabilizer added, would it be too late to add some now?
