I need brakes and rotors. I'm at 82,000 miles. I think I'm going to wait to do the rear rotors due to financial issues. I would like as much advice as possible. What parts to use and where to purchase. The independent Saab place out here in Denver wants $116 per rotor, $100 for front pads, and $75 for rear pads. Is this price alright? The dealer is much more expensive....about $50 per item. Is there an online store that will have similar pricing for much better parts? Also, this is an easy job right??? Any response is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks for reading!

Go to genuinesaab.com for your rotors, a pair is less than $100. I'd also get some kind of performance brakes pad.

I recently got the PBR/Axxis ultimate ceramic brake pads (front and rear) for about 85 dollars. I love them.

There is the link, i'd definetely consider those.
How well do they stand up to heavy use, ie fade resistance. Need front pads myself.

Hey Raven, I'll be glad to help you out if you let me know what you mean by 2 types???

I know they have 3 types: Organic, Metalmaster, Ultimate
Organic is like stock, metalmaster is better, and ultimate is ceramic

is that what you meant? if not lemme know! and which site are you buying from?

Not quite, there seem to be two part numbers for say the semi-metallic pads. I'm not sure which pad to order.

I see what you mean.
The first one is out of stock anyways so you cant order it. The second one would be the one to buy. I noticed this site has 2 items listed like this every now and then but one of them is always sold out. Safest thing to do is email them and tell them what car you have. $55 is not a bad price. Check out this site: https://www.prostreetonline.com/parts/saab/95/pbr_semi_metallic_brake_pads/

their prices are much higher

Ok, you're right about the front pads, one set is out stock so I'd get the other one. But if you look at the rear pads there are two sets and they're both in stock. Guess I'll take your advise and email the site as well as PBR. I sent PBR a email about their semi-metallic pads and they got back to me in a couple days with exactly the answer I needed.

I'm glad you got things straightened out. Let us all know how the brakes do in your test after you put a couple hundred miles on them :D

I've run into a slight problem, they don't carry rear PBR pads for the 9-5. :( In fact a lot of places don't seem to carry them anymore and the one place I did find wanted $150 for the rear set. Can anyone else find a better price. I looking for rear pads for an 01, PBR Metal Master/XBG.
