I've got my eyes on a 2000 9-5 that has an A/C issue. It blows warm air out of the defroster only. Please offer your advice on what would cause this and how to remedy it. The current owner believes it's a switch problem under the dash. Thanks/Daniel
Run the ACC self test/calibration and see what codes the system provides.Start engine and press AUTO and OFF simultaneously. Total # of codes shown on LH side of ACC display; actual codes are shown on RH side of ACC display for 3 seconds each.
It could be that a bunch of the blend and distribution motors and linkages are broken.
The self test EDT mentions cycles airflow around the various outlets, so you should be able to feel flow from footwell, face level vents in sequence. It should also give hot air and cold at various times in the 30 second test.
