can some1 help me with these two questions.

1.just this morning i noticed when starting the car a fan like noise coming from the engine as i drove the car for a while it stopped and it only seems to come on when the car is cold?

2.when looking for the noise after driving the car for a while i rested my hand on top of the di cassete which was very warm is this unusual.
thanks in advance to any1 who can help;)

  1. Cooling fan shouldn't come on from cold, it will however constantly cut in/out if the ACC is on. I've never heard my cooling fan running on the 9-5 and it does'nt overheat so i assume its a lot quieter than the 9000 fan which i could hear all the time.
  2. The DI being hot is normal, it produces the current for the spark plugs and sits on top of the engine block, i'd be amazed if it wasn't hot. :cheesy:

not to sure if it is the cooling fan.in saying that i am not to sure if it is a fan.the only way i can describe it is does any1 remember the dynamo lights you used to get for a bicycle(showing my age a bit there:cheesy: )when you used to pedal you could hear the dynamo rub of the tyre.well that is something like the noise i get when excellerating when the car is cold but like i say after about 2-3 minutes it goes away.i am certain it is coming from the engine but where i dont know at a guess i would say driving side:roll:
