Hi there...
Can anybody give me good advice what to do? Something step-by-step what to try next.
My 9-5 (2004) 2.2tdi autom. estate is doing roughly 21MPG(11l/100km) in city, on motorway 38mpg (6.5l/100km). Last tank only in city, 19MPG!! 160k miles (260k km) on clock. Had a chat with diesel mehcanic and he wasn't very surprised about it... I've been looking around forums for a quite long time and no one has this high consumption.
I cleaned the EGR valve about 2 weeks ago (was ok), could that make a such a big difference?.
Changed the engine filter week ago. No efect.
Nothing isn't leaking, everything seems to be perfect...
SID is lying, fuel gauge (i belive) doesn't show accurately... All these figures are from tank-to-tank measured...

Today i plan to clean the EGR valve once again. Maybe i see something new...

Any good ideas what to do?

EGR was ok. BUT. Could different air mass meter cause this? For interest we checked the production code on it and google shows that the one i have is mostly used in 3.0TDI-s. Since most diesel Saab's which are for spares are 3.0 I belive it might be a wrong part... Even WIS shows different data comparing 2.2tid and 3.0. Can anyone confirm the story? Or ECU is smart enough and will adjust with the meter?
