Hello, in regard to performance, the 1999 is 170 hp, and less than the 185 of the 2001 9-5. What physical differences account for this? I'm thinking the injectors, manifold, and possibly turbo? My intent is to get this engine on par with the 2001 motor, throw a stock 2001 bin on it, and tune in stages from there as money allows. Are the 1999 and 2000+ mechanically the same save for a few differences? This is my cousin's first car, and I recommended the saabs. We bought TWO 9-5 wagons, same year, make, model, color, and mileage from the same person for only $500 for the pair. After cleaning the sump (filthy!!), cleaning the MAF, and changing vacuum lines, I'm reading 8 psi @ ~3500 rpm which from what I read is max boost for this car. I'm thrilled we've reached that, and I'm looking at the next steps to get a solid stage 2, but I don't want to have to mess with weirdo in-between-facelifts hardware. Thoughts?

this was edited a few times, I was wrong on 185hp year, it's 2001, not 2000
